Meet Glaize

About us

Glaize Founder and CEO Gina Farran

We believe the nail care industry needs a shake-up

We built Glaize (literally in the middle of a global pandemic and against all odds) because we think it's BS that getting a quality manicure has to take so much time and effort (regardless of whether you're doing it yourself or at the salon).

We exist to give you an alternative that's easier, faster and better for your nails and the environment while still giving you the durability and salon quality of a gel manicure. Call it a first world problem but who doesn't love a great mani?

Our product development journey

Creating a long-lasting stick-on manicure that is made from and looks like real gel but doesn't need any curing once on the nail is no mean feat.

We spent over 2 years developing our formulations and continuously enhance them based on your feedback and by incorporating new bio-based ingredients into our formulations.

It only took about 600 attempts but we got there in the end.

We also ethically manufacture all our gels in our factory here in the UK and have our very own brilliant formulation chemist.

Putting the 'care' in nail care

With your help, we're putting our money where our mouth is by donating 1% of our sales to causes that we're super passionate about.

We've chosen to support Lebanon, Gina's home country, which happens to be going through tremendous hardship, partnering with Beit el Baraka, a Lebanese NGO that aims to assist citizens with the increasing cost of living by providing access to food, medical services, social security, education and home reconstruction as well as other vital support. Read more about Beit el Baraka's incredible work.

What's more, £1 from every Stick 'N' Mix sale goes to the artist's chosen charity, so you're doing good, whilst treating yourself.

We're on a sustainability journey

Historically, the nail industry hasn't had a great track record for sustainability, which is something we're passionate about changing. We're making improvements across all areas of our business.

Packaging

  • Glaize boxes & folder cards are made from FSC-certified, fully recyclable cardboard
  • Our reusable prep pads are made from 70% biodegradable bamboo & 30% cotton
  • Our prep juice bottles are currently made from 100% sugarcane polyethylene (a bio-based material)
  • We've searched high and low for a more sustainable alternative to traditional nail files (which often contain elements that are hard to recycle), and have custom-created our very own Glaize files from 100% compressed recyclable paper

Product formulation & ingredients

Our current gel formulation is up to 40% bio-based, and we're working on increasing this % with each new iteration - the only way is up! Our products are also vegan, cruelty-free and toxin-free.

Carbon offsetting

We're also proud members of Ecologi, who help keep our workforce climate positive here at Glaize HQ. By calculating our footprint and offering up the chance to offset through monetary donations, we're funding projects working to reduce CO2 levels in the atmosphere. Visit our forest.
